Our Programs
-
After school enrichment
A variety of enrichment classes are offered after school through CPA. Classes include art, foreign languages, yoga, dance, and sports. The program is supported by class tuition, but CPA offers partial or full scholarships for families that need financial assistance.
-
Downtown Art Walk
Allied Arts sponsors a Children’s Art Walk each spring where local students’ art work is displayed in windows or inside downtown businesses. CPA helps prepare and display student art work before the Art Walk each year.
-
Science & Engineering Fair
The Science Fair offers K-5 students an opportunity to display their answer to a scientific question of their choice through inquiry experiments or research. For the fair itself, volunteers are needed to organize student poster boards, set up displays, judge projects, and take down the room at the end of the night.
-
Bike to School Day
In May, volunteers are needed on the playground before school to record how many students biked or walked to school, and to hand out prizes, which can be donated or purchased by CPA. In years past, this day also coincides with the Bike Rodeo–an event that brings obstacle courses to Columbia and promotes bicycle safety.
-
End of Year Family Dance
Columbia families have celebrated spring with a fun family event that includes carnival games, food, and camaraderie. Volunteers operate stations like cake walks, dunk tanks, track-and-field games or whatever fun ideas this committee comes up with!
-
Teacher and Staff Appreciation
Teacher and Staff Appreciation happens throughout the year! Teacher Appreciation Week is in May. In addition, we share our appreciation throughout the year with luncheons, treats and coffee.
-
Spirit Wear (Coho Gear)
You may have seen Columbia students and parents sporting their blue Columbia Coho t-shirts and sweatshirts. We also offer opportunities for families, friends and neighbors to purchase Coho gear.
-
Yearbooks
We take pictures throughout the school year, organize them with the class pictures into a yearbook for students to receive in the spring.
-
School-Wide Directory
One important communication tool for Columbia families is our school directory. The team utilizes web forms, and school events to collect student information, compile into a printable document and have it printed and delivered for families to schedule play dates and strengthen relationships.
-

-
Movie Night
We host a family movie night each year where you can come in your comfy clothes and enjoy a family friendly film. Snacks and concessions provided by CPA.
-
Move-A-Thon
Our school’s only fundraiser. We encourage student’s to reach out to friends, family and neighbors for lap sponsorship. This event is more about moving your body and helping to raise much needed funds for the school each year to help bridge district gaps and support our programs and events.
-
5th Grade Celebration
The CPA loves our 5th graders and we want to celebrate their time here at Columbia. We provide the funds for a small gathering at a local park for 5th graders and their families to get together and honor their elementary school days at Columbia.
