Bias and Hate: Interrupting Harm, part I (75 mins)
This interactive workshop addresses the critical issues of interrupting bias and hate, extended with an introduction to socialization and liberatory practices in school environments. Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to recognize and interrupt harmful behaviors in classrooms, hallways, and other school settings. Through discussions, activities, and real-world scenarios, this session equips educators to foster inclusive environments and promote positive social change within their school communities.
Outcomes: Participants will
Increase understanding of how bias and hate manifest in school settings and the impact they have on individuals and the school community.
Gain effective strategies and tools to interrupt and address bias and hate when they occur—every comment, every time, in the moment, without exception.
Engage and actively contribute to a positive school culture.
